Meet Cheri Swalwell
Cheri Swalwell is a Christ follower who thoroughly enjoys her calling to be a wife, mother, author, podcaster, speaker and friend. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with her family hiking and exploring God’s amazing world. When not outside, and not working, Cheri loves to read or simply spend time with her family. She wishes she had the “loves to clean gene,” but that one passed her by somehow.
Cheri’s heart is to encourage people through her fiction series and many nonfiction books including devotionals, Bible studies, and compilation books.

I Took a Fall
Didn’t make the Lansing Fall Festival due to tripping over a hose on our concrete back deck. I did a number to my right shoulder (my dominant side). The main problem is the separation of the bone attached to the labrum (soft tissue). I won’t get too technical. After looking at the CT scan, the doctor advised that I proceed with physical therapy and see him in a month to see how I’m progressing.
Because of my age, he says that fixing it would be a 6-month recovery and lead to arthritis—and less mobility that I might have if I just let it heal on its own. It won’t be perfect, but acceptable. I might have more mobility, anyway.
If it happens again, though, I’ll be looking at a reverse shoulder replacement—a lifetime solution. That has a shorter recovery, believe it or not. Four months.
I appreciated his conservative approach and have seen improvement even over the past week. Please include me in your prayers.
