Author Update
Making nice progress on the second Emeline book: Heartstrings. I’m thankful I’m part of The Historical Fiction Programme. The coaching and critiques have been invaluable. Also, I’m taking the plunge and having new covers designed for both books. It’s not that I don’t like the current covers — I’m frustrated by the high number of clicks, but low sales. I’m also rewriting the blurb on the back cover and on Amazon. I may have a design to show you in June, but definitely by July. Very excited to be working with Design for Writers. (Later, I may send out a survey for your input.)
A Little Postal History
A Little Postal History
In 1893 Rural Mail Carrier, Carl Frick, delivered the U.S. mail by mule to the post office in the Arley Store in Kearney, Missouri where residents picked it up until Rural Free Delivery around 1910. He rode a mule because he couldn’t afford a horse. The pictures below show the outside and inside of the actual furnishings of that post office. You can see them in person, as well as the picture of Carl Frick, at the Kearney Historic Museum.
