The War I Finally Won
Book Review: middle-grade novel The War I Finally Won by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley.
Masterfully written, this WWII historical fiction work completes young Ada’s search for family, faith, and identity. It follows after the first novel: The War That Saved My Life. I enjoyed the mantra posed at the beginning - and again at the end: You can know all the things you like, and someday you might believe them.
Author Update
What a wonderful world, indeed! Even though things have been vastly different this year, I’ve found joy in many things:
Building valued relationships with my author friends from KC West Christian Writers and Clear Water Press. And, I have just joined the Write Brain Trust KC and look forward to meeting with them as well.
Did you know this about A. A. Milne?
Winnie-the-Pooh is probably my all-time favorite classic children’s book of stories. I remember taking turns reading it with my roommate in college for a welcome break from studying and to help us sleep. Recently I saw the following post in one of my Facebook writer groups and asked if I could share. I never knew this about A. A. Milne. Very, very interesting! My heart goes out to him and I love his stories even more.
