Author Update
December, 2020
What a wonderful world, indeed! Even though things have been vastly different this year, I’ve found joy in many things:
Building valued relationships with my author friends from KC West Christian Writers and Clear Water Press. And, I have just joined the Write Brain Trust KC and look forward to meeting with them as well.
Enjoyed being included in this year’s virtual Local Author Fair with The Story Center this year and met some great authors too.
My part-time job as a administrative assistant at Van’s Fence has blossomed into a 3-day work week from a 2-day because business has been booming. I so enjoy working with this family-owned business. (Two of the four daughters are pictured with me above.)
I set up and enjoy, not one, but two aquariums: a 40-gallon at home and a 20-gallon at work. Watching the fish is so relaxing and beautiful.
Emeline - A Journey was completed and released November 1st, as you know, although technically it has a 2021 publishing date. (Kind of like cars, where you can buy next year’s model this year.)
I was fortunate to have two IN-PERSON school visits this fall which was fantastic! I really miss being in the schools. (We took precautions, of course.) If your school would like a free author visit, please send them to my website to schedule one! (In-person or virtual)
Inspired by Emeline’s story, I have completed the young adult guided journal, My Journey (thoughts, hopes, and dreams). My designer, Rachel Lawston, is working on it now. Expected release: March 1, 2021.
Next, I will be working on a guided journal for the elementary kids inspired by the Bandana Acres series!
Then, a new book…
I plan on completing The Story Center certificates in both Oral and Written Storytelling in 2021. This opportunity is open to all and is offered in collaboration with the Metropolitan Community College. I love learning!
Emeline - A Journey
A horse. An orphaned girl. An 1890’s trip across ten states to connect with family.
If you’re a fan of the Little House on the Prairie, this would be like Laura having to travel alone from Missouri to Massachusetts.
With plenty of action, historical facts, and unforgettable characters, kids from 12-16 (more or less) will enjoy reading it and discovering the stark differences of life in the 1890’s.
Available as ebook, softcover, and hardcover. The audiobook is in production and will be coming in a few months. Save $$ and buy direct on my website. (BIG SALE this month!)
Don’t forget to leave an Amazon review (even if only by checking a star rating)! Direct review link here. Your review helps me write more books, and encourages others, like you, to enjoy it.
