October Author Update
Remembering Childhood
In September, my best childhood friend passed away, unexpectedly. Barbara Lynn Johnson Elliott Bunting and I grew up together from kindergarten through college. We were like two peas in a pod.
Even though our paths separated as adults, whenever we got together (which wasn’t often, unfortunately), we took up right where we left off—as though no time had passed. That kind of friendship is a gift.
I’ll miss her dearly and never forget her devotion to friends and family, her kindness, her sense of humor, her cooking, her incredible memory, and her smile. But I know I’ll see her again someday. Her memorial service is this Friday in her home town of Mustang, Oklahoma.
Mr. Bear
Have you ever taken a trip down memory lane to your childhood? Did you have special memories or toys?
I had a stuffed bear: brown, fuzzy, with jointed legs and head. He could sit or stand, or whatever. He even had a squeaker in his back. I toted that bear around until the fuzz wore off in places (especially the squeaker) and his eyes fell off..
Dad bought it for me on one of his military trips, I think, but I’m not sure.
Oakwoods Update
All is going well for the spring release for this series. Click HERE to see the first four covers and the blurbs for the first three. Books four and five are in the editing and illustration phase now.
Are you as excited as I am for this series? I hope so. It’s going to be a good one for early elementary or read-aloud.
I also changed the colors in the website. Do you like them?
Our House
Since my initial writing is finished until I receive the edits, I made a list of everything I’d like to do with our house—room by room. Nothing too crazy. Mostly, cleaning, organizing, and sprucing up. Some items won’t happen until next year, for sure. I work best with a plan and a list.
While I’m working on the house, I’ll think about where my next journey will be with writing (marketing, events, etc.)
Emeline Blog Tour
Today is the first day of Emeline’s blog tour with Just Read. Click the link or the image below to visit. I’m looking forward to new reviews and input from readers of the eBooks for A Journey and Finding Strength: During the Panic of 1893. One lucky winner will receive both paperback books, signed by me, along with codes for the two audiobooks and a $25 Amazon gift card.
Since this image was produced, Finding Strength has also won the Firebird Award.
October Chickadee Cheer Giveaway
