November Author Update

Oakwoods series…on schedule for 4/1/25 release

The first three books are complete except for final layout and printing. Claudia is illustrating the last two. Then there’s the final proofreading, interior design, and printing. Yay!

Picked up these bookmarks last week for early promotion at a Christian School Educators conference this week.

Soon I’ll be able to set up the titles for pre-order.

Oakwoods Launch Team, anyone?

The first twenty people to sign up will receive free advanced reader copies in the eBook format for all five titles. As a member of this select group, you agree to read and enjoy them with young children because I’d love to know what they think, too. You agree to write an honest review on Amazon, Goodreads, your social media, or other, by March 1, 2025.

I’d love to know what the children think of them, too.

Timing:

  • Sign-up opportunity will close December 31, 2024

  • All five ebooks and review links (Amazon & Goodreads) to arrive in your inbox around the first of January

  • Post your thoughts by March 1, 2025

Rewards:

  • The fun of being the first to read the stories and share your opinions with others

  • FREE softcover set of signed books sent to you March 1, 2025—after your reviews are confirmed

  • Invitation to a virtual launch party with more giveaways (date to be announced)

Will you help me help others find these new books when they release on April 1, 2025?

Thank you,

~ Kathy

My Reward

Why do I write for children and young adults?

This is why.

I received this beautiful thank you note from a young person last week and I will cherish it forever. Thank you, Abigail!

Announcement

Yes, Abigail, there WILL be a third book, Lord willing. The working title is Young Emeline. This all-new story will back up to Emeline’s younger life. She’s about nine years old and living with both her parents in Kearney, Missouri. It will be a middle-grade novel, about the size of A Journey, with new illustrations.

God inspired this idea through His servants—the Lefholz family—even before I received Abigail’s note.

So, after prayer, and thought, I’ve embraced the challenge of writing this prequel. Working with a seasoned writing coach and editor, along with my favorite illustrator, Claudia Gadotti, I hope to produce a beautiful novel for children 8-12 by 2026.
