June Author Update

Current Work In Progress: Young Emeline

Only thing to report is that I’ve invested in a writing class for this one. It’s been extremely helpful, so far.

The prequel to A Journey will be about ten-year-old Emeline’s life with her parents on the homestead. It will be its own story and not exactly linked to A Journey. (No death of parents or sibling included.)

I had anticipated this to be available by the end of this year, but because I spent so much time with Maria’s book, I hope to be finished by spring, 2026.

Oakwoods Series

Launched 4/4/25, this series was very popular at the Midwest Home Educators conference. Many copies were sold. But, I’ve yet to see many reviews. People are funny about leaving reviews. Even if nothing is said, clicking a star rating is super easy to do and counts.

If you have read any of these (or all of these) titles, would you please go HERE for direct links and just click your star rating? Any words are appreciated, but not required.

I’ve run an eBook giveaway on Goodreads for both Pip O’Possum and Sally Skunkskin. Out of over 800 and 600 entries respectively, 100 people won free eBooks in each campaign. Hoping for reviews.

Come See Me!

In just a few days, I’ll be at the Smithville Festival with all of my books. If you attend, please look for me and say howdy. I’d love to see you.

SUCCESS!

Isatu’s (aka Maria) book is out and has received rave reviews and top rankings in her categories.

Here’s just one:

5.0 out of 5 stars Faith

Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2025

I read this in one day, I couldn’t put it down! Such an inspiring book that I know will touch the lives of many.

Faith and Forgiveness interwoven in an incredible true life story, thank you for being brave enough to share this with the world!

Two Chickadee Cheer Giveaways

I forgot to do this in May, so we’re giving away TWO for June. Congratulations to these winners!

I’ll send you each an email and ask for your choice of softcover book to receive from me. I don’t have your names, just emails, so the first email has the word PEN in it. The second winner’s email includes the name HARPER. So, check your emails!

Thanks for subscribing!

Gardening

Another passion of mine is gardening. I love the quiet beauty of planting, weeding, and watching things grow. My husband and I also enjoy watching and feeding the birds (and squirrels).

Here’s some iris I’ve ordered to plant in the fall. (The iris is my favorite flower, but I love many others.) Many of these rebloom, too!

At the end, you’ll see my newest tool: the hoedag. I bought it at Ironwood Tools after I watched someone use it on a YouTube video. It’s awesome!

Happy Father’s Day!
