December Author Update

Annual Review

It’s always a good idea to evaluate the past year and make any changes for the coming year—no matter what you do. Here’s what I’ve discovered for Chickadee Words but I’m also making adjustments in my personal life, too.

What worked?

Events! Next year I want to do lots of them. School visits, fairs, conferences, pop-ups, library readings, bookstore signings, etc.

What didn’t work?

Social media for sales. I like social media for catching up with people, but I haven’t found many people buy from social media posts. That’s why next year, I’m focusing on one, maybe two social media outlets. YouTube will be one of them.

Overall strategy for 2025.

More events, less social media, SEO improvements on the website, continue my twice monthly blog tradition.

As for my personal life—more regular devotion time, stick to a healthy diet, and have an exercise routine. Also, I’ll be helping someone very special get their story out into the world. More on that down the road.

Young Emeline (a Prequel)

IT… HAS… BEGUN.

By January, I’ll have a rough outline with necessary scenes, plot points, and exciting new adventures for young Emeline. How did she become the Emeline we know? We’ll find out in this prequel for middle-grade readers, or any readers who love her. By working monthly with Erin, my coach and editor, I anticipate this title will be one of my best works to date.

Claudia Gadotti will continue to illustrate her story and Ellen Quay will voice the audiobook. Andrew and Rebecca from Design for Writers will design the cover and interior. So exciting!

Oakwoods Series Update

In a holding pattern until the end of the year.

It takes time for everyone to finish their assignments and I don’t rush anyone. I want this series to be absolutely lovely and engaging from the start and I’m willing to wait for that. More in January.

StoryOrigin Suggested Read

Lovers of fantasy will want to check out today’s release from Yuri Jean-Baptiste—a follower of Christ with a BIG imagination. A story of darkness and light, it’s a timeless struggle for good over evil. Rebellion is the first title in his new series.

Available for only $.99 for a limited time in eBook format, it’s also available in softcover print and audiobook. Click the image or purple description for Amazon page.

Living as a street rat in the impoverished hamlet of Kerkeliz, young Chidea has only known oppression and hardship. Between the harsh rule of corrupt rulers and terrifying creatures from the Underworld preying on defenseless citizens, Eylsia has lost all hope.

But when a curious group of ragtag warriors invades their sleepy town, Chidea unearths a daring plot to overthrow the Traitor King and bring an end to the Forsaken Ones that threaten their kingdom. Desperate to learn more and discover the truth behind the mystical Armor of Elyon, Chidea will find herself at the forefront of a war between an ancient demigod of Chaos and the mysterious hero destined to challenge him.

Will the defiant warriors regain the legendary lost Armor before it’s too late, or will the dark forces of Vehdite quell the sparks of rebellion once and for all?

Chronicles of Elysia: Rebellion is the first book in the electrifying epic fantasy series from the author of Metamorphs. Fans of C.S. Lewis, R. A. Salvatore, and Andrzej Sapkowski will love this diverse new spin on the genre.

Enjoy the pleasures of Christmas and honor Jesus Christ.
