December Author Update

Writing Chapter Two!

Now that my outline’s finished and chapter one’s rough draft is done, I’m writing the second chapter. And, I’m re-thinking the title. In a recent blog, there was a survey which only a couple of people submitted, but if I’m honest, none of those titles really captured the core of the book AND people’s attention. So, that’s simmering.

Sunroom House Nearly Finished

I’ve been working on a video to capture the adventure of this remodel and only have one section left: the basement. Even though we have tenants, the basement is still coming together with paint and trim. I’ll post that video next month, hopefully.

Marketing / Publicity

I need more reviews on my books! Some marketing doors are shut simply because I don’t have enough reviews. If anyone of you has read one of them and has yet to post a review on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and/or Goodreads, please, please do.

Last month, I attended the Mid-America Christian School Association’s teacher conference and several teachers encouraged me with words like these: “Kids can’t wait till it’s their turn to check out your books from our library.” At this excellent conference, I sold many books. :)

Next year, I’m going to visit some schools personally to offer author visits. If your school would like one, please let the principal, teachers, or librarian know and give them my contact information. Details are on my Author Visit page.

Oh, and I updated my website a little…

December Chickadee Cheer Winner!

Congratulations to someone who’s name I don’t know, but “sand” is part of their email address. You’ve won your choice of a book, artwork, or Hoorag from my shop. Just respond to the message I send you with your choice and your physical address so I can send it to you. :)

Need gifts? We have books!

Enter to win all eight books from local Kansas City authors, members of the group “Of Books and Nooks”. Do it by December 10th. The winner will be announced on the 11th. Good luck!

Just for Fun

I received an email from My Heritage (a genealogy company), which I used to subscribe to. I spent weeks researching my family tree and found a trace leading as far back as Adam & Eve! Crazy!

Anyway, this new email is about a service they offer for creating an AI of yourself (or anyone else) from 10-20 pictures - in different eras. How fun is that? So, I did mine for free, and one for each of our daughters.

Weirdly, I look older in some and younger in others. I think I didn’t Have enough photos to make it work correctly on some - especially full-body views. (something I try to avoid in pictures)

Danielle: Determined Adventurer and soon-to-be Dr. Perry, DPT (doctor of physical therapy - just in time to help us in our old age! (She really does like to parachute out of a plane!)

Cassidy - Courageous Entrepreneur and graphic arts designer, photographer, imagineer, storyteller, social media guru, business owner, interior designer, and more… The first one is actually her, not AI. I didn’t have many pictures of her either. That’s what happens when she’s behind the camera.

Have a Blessed Christmas (or other holiday you observe). Thanks for subscribing!
