MY LIFE AS AN ILLUSTRATOR

Claudia Gadotti — Illustrator Extraordinaire

Do you like to draw? Color? Paint? If so, read on to learn how this youngster grew up to be an illustrator for children’s books. Maybe someday, you will too! It’s not as hard as it used to be. Take it from Claudia…

I just realized that I interviewed Claudia in my January, 2020 blog, without video. Watching the video is more fun because you see and hear her. You may always view older blog posts on my website: kathyjperry.com.

The new things I learned from our recent meeting were:

1) Her parents thought she should go to nursing school rather than become an artist. (All artists are starving, you know.) She actually went to university, graduated, and became a nurse for four years. She has the utmost respect for nursing.

2) She loves all kinds of medium and gets bored if she does the same thing over and over. So illustrating children’s books for a variety of authors suits her.

3) She teaches art at two primary schools after school. She developed a program that incorporates other learning with art: physics, science, culture, etc. The kids love it! Sharing her talents with young people is inspiring.

Here are some of the books she’s illustrated:
