About Brian Gehrlein

Seriously, he’s not so serious. :)

Seriously, he’s not so serious. :)

Filled with enthusiasm for theatre, kids, and writing, Brian lives in Liberty, Missouri with his wife and two young sons. He’s busy teaching English to high-school students in the 9th and 11th grades during the day, but evenings and weekends he’s fully on as a new parent. With his sense of humor, I would love to sit in on his class!

Still, he finds time to write, often inspired by one-liners he overhears. Brian truly enjoys the entire process, which makes him a fantastic leader in the craft. It’s a privilege for me to know and learn from him.

Parents, teachers, librarians — pick up his book, The Book of Rules, from Amazon or The Learning Tree, or through his website: PBSpotlight.com where you can learn more about Brian and other outstanding picture books.

Description for The Book of Rules:

An interactive picture book with dynamic illustrations, in which readers have to follow the rules or risk a run-in with a monster―with a gentle approach to mindfulness along the way.

Beware! This book has rules. You must follow all the rules. If you break the rules . . . Dennis the monster will eat you. And you don’t want to be Dennis-food―do you?

With a laugh-out-loud, interactive style, The Book of Rules invites you to get your sillies out before it’s time to focus and listen to directions. And you better get started, because Dennis can’t wait to eat―or, um―meet you!
