Author Update

The Latest on the Author Front:

  1. Emeline - A Journey was born on November 1, 2020. Action-packed and full of relatable, larger-than-life characters, check it out and pick up a copy from My Shop at https://kathyjperry.com for your tween or teen for Christmas.

  2. I’ll be interviewed, along with 3 other authors, on Facebook Live @ https://www.facebook.com/mystorycenter. Hosted by The Story Center of the Woodneath Public Library, a Mid-Continenent Public Library branch. Date: November 21st (Saturday) at 10:30 a.m. It’s a public event, so come by if you can!

  3. Updated my website - again - to make it beautiful, simpler, and easy to navigate. Let me know if you have any trouble. On the site, My Shop is the best place to buy books. Cheaper, signed, and bookmarks are included!

  4. Made a 16x20” poster of the illustration for the cover of Emeline and framed it for my boss’s office for her birthday. She loved it!

  5. Made four mouse pads of various illustrations from Emeline for the office staff.

  6. Enjoyed two in-person school visits: one for the elementary, and one for the secondary. The kids and I really had fun talking about writing and interacting. I hadn’t had a school visit since February, I think, and I sure miss the kids. Had to wear a mask until I got behind a blue line, but that’s still okay! Recommend me to your kids’ school for a visit. They’re free! All I ask is that I can send home a book order form a month in advance. Give my website address to your teachers and have them go to the “Author Visits” tab. I can do ZOOM meetings too.

  7. I’m working on the sequel to Emeline - A Journey. Mostly just coming up with ideas right now.

  8. I’m also working on companion, guided journals. I’m going to have one for the elementary with a Bandana Acres theme (and wider lines) in a landscape format. And, two secondary journals (girl’s and guy’s) with an Emeline theme (narrow lines) in a portrait format. I’m meeting with professionals for help with the guided questions: principals, counselors, etc. I think they’ll be very popular! Probably will be out in January or February, 2021.

  9. I’m currently reading a young adult novel called “The War I Finally Won” by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. I will give a review on it in a couple of weeks - probably after Thanksgiving.

  10. I’ve been helping two other authors this month too. I love everything about authoring and get to meet the most amazing people.

  11. I’ve been learning more about marketing through online classes and meetings.

  12. I had a birthday! Still feel great and I’m so thankful.

Social Distancing…at a school visit! Loved being with the kids. (There were several students! You just can’t see them.)

Enjoy Thanksgiving with your family - if you can - and take care!
