Most schools evaluate the reading ability (and level) of each student. Students are then able to select from books within their interest and reading ability. This process makes them confident and increases their reading ability incrementally. Students no longer need to struggle with reading that is too difficult, or get bored with books that are too easy! Some schools use the Lexile program, and others use Fountas & Pinnell (F&P). 

Chickadee Words came into being for the purpose of providing, fun animal friendship adventures for early readers. The Bandana Acres series fills the gap between picture and longer chapter books. In keeping with this goal, this series has been rated by both Lexile and Fountas & Pinnell (F&P).
